How to match your table top and shelf to your motorhome interior

Cream shelf with Verona Cherry edging matched to a Bürstner Lyseo interior

The quick answer: you choose the surface laminate and the edging colour separately. Our standard colours are pressed ready to cut and are the best value, and for a closer match we can press almost any laminate from the Egger, Altofina and Formica ranges specially for you. If you're not sure, send us a photo of your interior.

Surface and edging are chosen separately

That's what lets you get a proper match. You might go for a cream surface with a walnut edge to pick up the wood in your cabinets, or a light grey with a matching grey edge for a more modern van. On our Bürstner kits, for example, the cream surface comes with a choice of Verona Cherry, Lava Grey or Truffle Sonoma Oak edging to suit the different Harmony Line interiors.

Standard colours

On 19mm tops our standard colours are Oak and White, and on 27mm they're Cream and Light Grey. These are pressed on the sheet ready to cut, so they're the best value and the quickest to make.

Laminated to order

Any other finish is pressed specially for your top, which adds a little to the price and the lead time. Our range includes woodgrains such as Maple, Verona Cherry, Oak and zebrano, plain colours, marbles, and textured stone and concrete finishes. If you've a colour in mind that isn't listed, ask us.

Edging colours

We edge in ABS, in Anthracite, Arctic White, Authentic Oak, Bloomed Cherry, Classic Wenge, Dust Grey, Havanna Cherry, Light Grey, Light Maple, Madison Walnut, Platin Oak, Salisbury Elm, Truffle Baron Elm, Truffle Sonoma Oak and Verona Cherry.

Tips for a good match

  • Match the edging to your existing trim. The edge is what your eye picks up first, so match it to the lip or edging on your cabinets and the rest usually follows.
  • Look in daylight. Colours change under interior lights, so check your van with the door open on a bright day.
  • Think about the grain. With a woodgrain surface you can choose whether the grain runs along the length or across the width.
  • Check your model year. Manufacturers change interiors between years, and registration year and model year don't always match.

Not sure? Send us a photo

Send a photo of your interior to support@chippysworkshop.co.uk, or ring us on 01823 740022, and we'll suggest the closest match. You can see all the colours on our custom table top page, and read about the laminate itself in why we use the materials we use.

Many thanks,
Keith (aka Chippy)
