Our shelves and table tops are designed and made in our Somerset workshop. This page explains what they're designed for, how to fit them, and how to look after them.
What our shelves are designed for
Our shelves are designed as removable accessories for use while your vehicle is parked. They give you a practical extra surface for lightweight items, like a phone, a book, a mug or a small kettle, and are made to match your interior so they look like part of the vehicle.
They are not designed or tested for use while the vehicle is in motion, and they are not designed to take body weight.
Before you travel
Before setting off, either remove the shelf or make sure it is completely clear of items. Anything left on a shelf can move around while driving, so please clear it every time, even for a short journey.
Please don't use a shelf as a step or handle
Our shelves are made for lightweight items only. Please don't stand on one, sit on one, or use one as a grab handle or step, for example to reach a bed. They aren't built to take that kind of load and doing so may damage the shelf, the fittings, or your vehicle's furniture.
Fitting
How a shelf fits depends on the kit, as each one is made for a particular vehicle. Where a kit has its own fitting instructions, you'll find a link on the product page and a QR code on the packing slip in the box.
A few things apply to every kit:
- Check all the parts against the packing slip before you start.
- Where a kit uses clamps, tighten them evenly, just enough to hold the shelf firmly with no movement.
- Don't overtighten. Motorhome and caravan furniture is lightweight, and too much pressure can mark or damage it.
- Check the shelf sits level and doesn't foul any doors, blinds, seats or fittings when they're opened or moved.
Fitting should be carried out by someone confident doing it. If you're unsure about anything, get in touch before you start and we'll talk you through it.
Looking after your shelf or table top
Wipe the laminate surface with a damp cloth and a mild household cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent based cleaners, which can dull the finish. Wipe up spills reasonably promptly, particularly along the edging.
If something isn't right
Every kit is made to fit a specific vehicle, and specifications do sometimes change between model years. If your shelf doesn't fit as expected, please stop and contact us before modifying anything, as we'd much rather sort it out for you.
You can reach us through our Contact page, and details of your return rights are set out in our Refund Policy.
