Chippy's Workshop is a family business in Somerset. Since 2012 we've been making replacement table tops, shelves and shelf kits for motorhomes, campervans and caravans, and supplying the ITC table leg systems they sit on.
Meet the maker
I'm Keith, though most people know me as Chippy. I'm a time-served cabinet maker and joiner with over thirty years in furniture making. I started Chippy's Workshop in 2012, and it's now part of CW Trade Ltd, our family business. Everything we sell is designed here and nearly everything is made here, in our own workshop at Heathfield near Taunton, with the family and our small workshop team.
Made here, and made properly
Our tops and shelves start as lightweight poplar plywood, never MDF or chipboard. We press the high pressure laminate on ourselves with a two part adhesive, cut every piece on our own CNC, band the edges on our own curved edgebander, and then finish each one by hand before it's packed. Our shelf kits are designed around the real vehicle and test fitted before they go on sale.

As seen on television
In June 2016 ITV's This Morning asked us to make a special table top for a Father's Day shed makeover on their #PimpMyShed feature. Read about it here.
Later that year we supplied the table and Redwood leg systems for a Sea King helicopter glamping pod, featured on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces in October 2016. Read about it here.
